Gorumara was a reserve forest since 1895 and in 1949 the park was declared a Wildlife Sanctuary. The sanctuary is located in the Malbazar subdivision of Jalpaiguri district. The park is situated on the bank of Murti and Raidak. The main focus of the sanctuary is maintaining breeding community of Indian rhinoceroses. The park has few watch towers Jatraprasad Watch Tower, Rhino Observation Point, Chandrachur Watch Tower, Chukchuki Watch Tower. Tourists can enjoy deep green forest, Himalayan foothill and fresh nature. Though tree density has been decreased in Gorumara forest but excitement of Jungle Safari by Jeep or by Elephant has been attracting even more tourists now.
How to reach:
Gorumara(Dooars), 60 kms from Siliguri through NH 31 via Sevoke Bridge.
